Pact Day 3 of 5

I'm having one of those days where you feel so busy, but you look back and think "what did I even do?" As I was getting ready for bed, I remembered I hadn't written my blog for today yet. I'll admit I immediately felt too tired and didn't want to. I reminded myself that they pact is about the action, the doing the thing. So in an effort to remind myself what I did today and complete my blog post of the day, I'm going to do a sort of "day in the life" recap.

Day in the life of an ADHD mom, business owner, ED dietitian, and wife:

On Wednesdays, I start seeing clients later in the day

6:20 am - Rise and shine! I'm woken before my alarm by one of my girls leaving their room. Why do they walk like elephants?! I scrolled TikTok as I slowly woke up.

6:30 am - Alarm goes off. My daughters strolled in at some point with good morning snuggles.

6:35 - 7:30 am - Brush teeth, basically follow my daughters around to make sure they are getting ready for school, eat breakfast, pack their water bottles and snacks, drink coffee, and send them off to school

7:30 - 8:00 am - dilly dally around, clean up from breakfast, start a load of laundry, took my meds

8:00 - 8:30 am - review my long-ass to-do list and try to prioritize today's tasks, check work email for anything urgent

8:30 - 9:00 am - respond to a few work emails, email a teacher family photos for the "family wall" in their classroom, add a personal few appointments to my google calendar

9:00 - 9:30 am - write notes on yesterday's clients and some from last week I hadn't completed yet

9:30 - 10:30 am - needed a break from work stuff, tried to figure out (unsuccessfully) our home printer ink subscription situation and why it is not working- got annoyed with that and moved on, finished my daughter's birthday Amazon wish list, sent the wishlist to party guests, sent the remaining invites out to guests, ordered a gift for a friend's kiddo who has a party this weekend, checked in with our office assistant who went home sick yesterday, poor thing was still feeling awful so we told her to take the day off and we would try to cover for her

10:30 - 11:30 am - texted with Kat and Amber that I would check admin's email today, checked my work emails, responded to some of admin's emails which included confirming a new client's appointments with myself and Kat, adding the client to our EHR, calendars, and prompting paperwork to be sent; more charting on clients; created a discharge summary for a client who moved and is transitioning to a new team

11:30 - 12:00 pm - watched some of the Lindsay Clancy trial, vacuumed the house, wiped down the kitchen counters, narrowly missed stepping on Legos, was reminded of the snack stains from my children on the couch (added that to my future list)

12:00 - 1:00 pm - reheated last night's dinner leftovers for lunch, answered emails, started getting ready for work (hair and makeup); answered work-related texts about the types of privacy blinds/curtains we might need to update for our office; added school events to our family calendar

1:00 - 1:30 pm - coordinated care with 2 local therapists providing them updates on the client's we share while finishing getting ready to go in to the office

1:30 - 3:15 pm - watched a little more of the Lindsay Clancy trial while responding to emails, charting, and laundry; confirmed with my mom that yes the items she did purchase from the Amazon wish list were marked as such; edited our Amazon Subscribe & Save subscription for next month; reviewed to-do list and pushed some items to tomorrow

3:15 pm - grabbed a snack and rushed out the door to the office

3:30 - 4:30 pm - high school client

4:30 - 5:30 pm - high school client

5:30 - 6:30 pm - adult client

6:30 - 7:00 pm - texted husband my order for takeout, check personal and office assistant emails one last time; responded to an email from a RD possibly wanting to receive supervision from me; texted Kat and Amber about a minor office issue - we need batteries LOL, chat with Amber for a bit before leaving the office

7:00 - 8:30 pm - headed home from office; husband and the girls arrive home too from horse lessons and have the take out for dinner, ate dinner, attempted to keep the girls on task to get ready for bed, reading, snuggles

8:30 - 9:30 pm - worked on creating a google sheet to help me do the math more efficient when I calculate adolescent estimated goal weights; used the google sheet to crunch numbers to determine goal weight ranges, plotted points on their CDC growth charts and prepared to present my findings to the parents this week (all this while periodically being interrupted by my kids who were "having trouble falling asleep")

9:30 - 10:00 pm - dilly dally around again while I'm waiting for my husband to get out of the shower/bathroom so I can get ready for bed (we have a small bathroom)

10:00-11:00 pm- shower, take off makeup, skincare routine, etc - all that bedtime routine stuff; scroll social media; write down some to-do's for tomorrow I think of

11:00 - 12:00-ish am - mix of writing this blog (which took longer than I thought it would because I had to really remind myself what I did all day LOL) and getting my work bag packed for tomorrow; added a few items to my Target drive-up order; and now I'm off to bed!

I'm sure I missed some things, but I'm thankful I stayed committed to the pact and DID it. Woo!

But damn, I missed the midnight deadline :)
